This week I finished hanging a light in the machine shop.

The bracket in question

I started off by designing a bracket in cad. After finishing the design, I cut the mounting brackets out of cardboard

with the laser cutter to test all the sizes of the screws.

After ensuring that the sizes of everything were all

correct, I used the water jet to cut them out of

aluminum by following the guide created by my

classmate Aaron BenDaniel.

After cutting them out, I bent them into right angles so I could mount them on the wall. I then drilled holes and inserted drywall anchors so I could screw the brackets into the wall. After mounting it, I used double sided tape to attach the power supply to the wall and tied up the wire.

I also started to work on another light, this time for the soldering station. The design was supposed to be a movable light with a gooseneck base. This time I tried to design a different type of bracket for the bottom this time, however I realized that wouldn't work because I couldn't bend a bracket that small so precisely, and if I printed it with the 3d printer it wouldn't have been able to bend enough to fit on the light. Finally, I also made a guide on how to use the small laser cutter.
