This week I worked on revising the jump meter model because there were some obvious flaws with it. The first one I worked to resolve was the problem with the counterweight. I had previously only considered the balance of the hanging part with the stand, and not the actual balance of the meter, meaning that even if I did have the correct counterweight, instead of falling towards the hanging part, it would fall over sideways. I sought to resolve that by working on spreading the weight of the counterweight out to both sides to give it more of a base. I also took some advice from my classmate Joao Luiz Paizante, who said that I could also add a hook to both the base and the top and run a thin rope through them to keep the Meter upright.

I also worked on fixing the holder for my PCB and finding a way to integrate that into the PVC pipe. I faced the problem of the screw holes on the PCB being farther apart than the width of the PVC, so I resolved that by adding a quarter inch piece of wood underneath. In order to print it, I split it into two parts. I'm aiming to print this soon so I can put it on the Jump Meter and make sure that it works.
