This week I wrapped up testing the sensors for the jump meter. I finally got everything working together again, the sensors, the PCB, and the multiplexer. I found that one of the problems with the sensors not working was with the light level around them. When I moved them more into the sunlight, they would work, but when they were in a darker area, they wouldn't. After I rectified that issue I tested every indivual pin on the board, both the two pin headers for the transmitters and the three pin headers for the receivers. Then I hot glued the bottom of the PCB to ensure that the pins wouldn't get damaged and stop working.

After finishing all of that, I began working on a cad model for the final product. the general idea is that there will be two PVC tubes, one slotted into another, the top one can slide up and down to adjust for different people's heights, and get locked into position by a peg. The top PVC tube will have slots to fit the sensors into and a space at the top to fit the PCB into. I'll need to get materials for it this weekend so I can finally finish this project.
